Dr. Nitin Patki

Dr. Nitin Suresh Patki is a well-known and prominent Cardiologist from Pune in Maharashatra. He completed his MBBS in 1984 & MD (MED) in 1988 from B.J. Medical College, Pune which is amongst the premier medical institutions in Maharashtra. Further, he pursued DM (Cardiology) from T.N Medical College and B.Y.L Nair Hospital in Mumbai. He has a distinction of standing second at university level in both MD (MED) as well as DM (Cardiology).

Dr. Patki started his career as a Resident- Dept of Medicine at Sasoon General Hospital. During his fourth and fifth year of DM, he worked as a Resident- Dept of Cardiology of B.Y.L. Nair Hospital.

After undergoing extensive training in Cardiology from Australia, Dr. Patki worked as a Visiting Associate in the department of Cardiology of The Royal Melbourne Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. He worked in its Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory where 400 Angioplasties were performed every year which included Direct Angioplasties for Acute Myocardial Infarction and other Coronary Interventions like Intracoronary Stent Implantation and Coronary Atherctomy. During this tenure, Dr. Patki successfully performed 22 Percutaneous Intra-Aortic Balloon Counterpulsation, Balloon Insertions & Management and more than 30 Dual Chamber Permanent Pacemaker Implantation. He was also involved in an advanced training of nurses for Intensive Care Unit.

Research

Dissertation Entitled "2 Dimentional Echo Cardiography in the diagnosis of Congenital heart disease". The Dissertation was presented to the University of Pune, India for the Examination of MD (MED).

Dissertation Entitled "Immediate and follow up results of Aortic Balloon Valvuloplasty by double Balloon technique". This Dissertation was presented to the Bombay University, India for the examination of DM (Cardiology).

"Immediate and followup results of Intra Coronary Stents" Submitted for publication the paper on immediate and 6 months follow up results of Coronary Stents, the initial experience this is an Angiographic followup study from The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
